Talia Wright

Talia Wright is a fourth-year multimedia journalism and cultural studies student at Columbia College Chicago.

 

Talia has a 1-year-old cat at home named Butter. When she got him, he was just a tiny kitten who followed her up the stairs and into her home –– she’s had him ever since. Talia’s friends call Butter her familiar.

Jonathon Sadowski

Jonathon will graduate from Columbia College Chicago's journalism program in Fall 2018. He lives in Uptown off the Lawrence Red Line stop and dislikes walking past the Aragon Ballroom when an EDM concert is getting out.

A Racine, Wisconsin, native, Jonathon spent the summer of 2017 reporting for the Journal Times, a daily newspaper, covering pretty much anything you can think of in and around Racine County.

Jonathon sparsely tweets about his experiences on the Red Line @Sadowskijourno.

Laurence Almalvez

This is Laurence's last year at Columbia College Chicago. He lives and works out of the Northwest Suburbs.

Passionate about movies, Laurence has seen over 6,000 films and counting, which is a thousand more than the average American is said to have watched in their lifetime. Prior to coming to Columbia, he interned at the Hollywood Reporter and has contributed articles to Big Comic Page, WhatCulture and IMDB.

Bailee Penski

Bailee is a junior at Columbia College Chicago, majoring in magazine journalism with a minor in cultural studies. She is originally from Indianapolis, but is currently living in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago.

 

In addition to writing, Bailee has a love for indie music, antique stores and romantic comedies. She is passionate about writing profile stories of female entrepreneurs and artists for Chicago Woman magazine,  where she is currently interning.

Maya Durfee O'Brien

Maya is a junior in the journalism program with a concentration in magazine. She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and currently lives in Chicago.

 

You can catch Maya in her Wicker Park apartment listening to The Cure, The Clash or Black Flag while hanging out with her cat, Bernie. She loves farmers markets and watching Lifetime movies.

 

Maya wishes to be a witch at some point in her life. Coincidentally, her favorite movie is "The Craft."

Isbella Bagshaw

This is Bella's last year at Columbia College Chicago as a multimedia journalist with a focus in news and features. She is from Lake Zurich, a Northwest suburb, and currently lives in Evanston, Ill.

 

Bella has a deep appreciation for Chicago's underground house music scene and is a staff writer for dancingastronaut.com, which is an electronic music and news outlet based in New York.

 

She is also a non-aggressive vegan who loves reading cyberpunk books.

Jada Jackson

Jada Jackson is a Chicago native and senior at Columbia College College studying to get her B.A. in multimedia journalism with a concentration in magazine writing.

Always inspired by art and fashion, Jada collects indigenous jewelry pieces from around the world.

Currently, she's a contributor of The Good Trade, an online digital media company that  focuses on showcasing socially responsible products and brands.

After graduation she hopes to work as an investigative documentary reporter.
